The Mystics – Monastery Days – December 2-5, 2024
HAMMARSKJÖLD – TERESA – WEIL
How does faith influence political life? Should it have it at all? Throughout history, this conversation has been highly relevant – and it still is today. In this year’s course on the mystics, we get close to three who have drawn their faith into politics. In their own way, they force us to look at what consequences we want and can draw from our faith.
We will get acquainted with Dag Hammarskjöld, the second Secretary General of the UN; the monastery founder Teresa of Ávila from the Spanish Golden Age and almost contemporary French Simone Weil.
There will be plenty of time for reflection and conversations that bring faith into the life we live right now.
